Traveling with baby this summer? Don't forget to pack these!

Posted in Baby carrier, Changing pad, Doona, Porta-crib, Travel with baby

This summer is likely to be one of the busiest travel seasons in years, and now’s the best time to start planning if you haven’t already! Whether you’ll be heading to Disneyworld or flying overseas, there are plenty of things you’ll need to take along if you’re bringing baby on board for the trip.

Traveling Essentials

Changing Pad. Make sure to bring along a baby changing pad with you! A folding changing pad like the Mushie Portable Changing Pad is a great choice, since it's so compact and won’t take up much packing space. The Mushie Portable Changing Pad comes in a few different colors. The Skip Hop Pronto Changing Station is another compact changing pad we recommend.

Diaper Bag. Whether it’s a Doona bag, 7AM Enfant Capri Tote, or even the 7AM London Diaper Backpack, there are plenty of diaper backpacks to choose from. Most diaper bags actually come with a small diaper changing pad included, to make life even more practical.

Bottle brush. A bottle brush is so important. It’s one of the things you don’t always remember to bring with you, but it’s not worth forgetting… and don’t forget to bring along a little bit of dish soap, too, so you can scrub the baby bottles well!

Essentials for your stay

Most hotel rooms and airbnbs don’t come with the basic baby essentials that your home has. These items are so basic that you might not even think of them when packing! But no worries - here’s the full list. Everything you’ll need for your stay, so that instead of having to run out to the store to get things, you can focus your vacation on relaxing.

Travel Crib

A travel travel crib is something you’ll want to have with you when you’re going on vacation.

The Bugaboo Stardust is our most recommended porta-crib for traveling, with a weight of under 15 lbs and a narrow compact design.

Doona

If your baby is under a year old, the Doona is definitely a great option.

It’s lightweight, and it’s great for small spaces because it's a stroller and car seat in one! And the best part is, if you’ll be flying, there’s a chance you can take the Doona on the plane with you.

Lightweight stroller

If your baby is over a year old, we don't recommend getting the Doona. A better

option would be to get a lightweight stroller that’s designed to fit in the plane’s overhead compartment. Lightweight stroller options include the Joolz Aer+, Cybex Beezy, and the Bugaboo Butterfly

Baby Carrier

A baby carrier can be a lifesaver for some parents. Baby carriers let you cradle your baby close, without preventing you from getting things accomplished.

And it definitely takes up way less space than a lightweight stroller! If a baby carrier sounds like your speed, the BabyBjorn Baby Carrier is our most popular one.

Baby Bathtub

You don’t have to use a baby bathtub when you go on vacation, but it’s definitely a nice thing to have! The Blooming Bath Poppy tub is extremely practical, and won’t take up too much packing space.

Stokke Jetkids Bedbox

This one’s not really for babies, but we just couldn’t leave it out! The Stokke Jetkids Bedbox will give your child a first class travel experience.

It’s a carry-on that doubles as a ride-on so that your child can be wheeled around while you get from one place to the next in the airport.

Wherever you'll be going with baby, here's wishing everyone on the trip a fabulous time. Bon voyage!
